Congratulations to Adam Buck from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln! He has been awarded a 2013 Newman Student Award Medal, for his work on measuring the just noticeable difference of reverberation time using a transformed up-down adaptive method, as nominated by Dr. Lily Wang and Dr. Siu-Kit Lau.

Schultz Grant deliverables posted
The Newman Fund is pleased to offer PDF versions of two previous Schultz Grant projects: the 2000 Architectural Acoustics Workbook by David Egan, and the 2011 Electronic Sound System Design by Neil Thompson Shade. We are working on obtaining electronic versions of all Schultz Grant projects, so that they may be made available through this website. Stay tuned!

2012 Student Design Competition Announcement
The 2012 Student Design Competition involves the acoustic design of a mixed use building planned for the Mong Kok district of Hong Kong, to include offices on the lower floors, luxury hotel rooms in the middle floors, and a nightclub on the top floor. Entries will be judged at the upcoming Acoustical Society of America conference in Hong Kong, May 13-18, 2012. Student teams interested in participating should register by sending an email to the competition organizers by April 19, 2012. Please click here to download the full announcement.
